The Oregon High Desert Grotto is an internal organization of the National Speleological Society (NSS), the leading organization in the United States dedicated to the study, exploration, and conservation of caves. While NSS membership is encouraged, it is not required to join our local grotto. We are a dedicated group of cavers based in Central Oregon who believe in responsible exploration and the importance of treating caves as the limited and fragile resources they are.
